Saint Pius students have the opportunity to take part in a wide variety of activities. While each endeavor is different in nature and scope, they all contribute to personal growth and learning, build a feeling of accomplishment, instill a sense of community among participants, and are enjoyable.

St. Pius School Choir: The choir is open to any student, beginning in the second grade. They sing at the 8:30 a.m. Mass every Friday and on selected Sundays and Holy Days with the parish children’s choir, teens and adults. Rehearsals are on Tuesdays at 3-4 p.m. in the Music Room.
Altar Servers: As Pope John Paul II said in an address to Altar Servers: “You are much more than simple ‘helpers of the parish priest.’ Above all, you are servers of Jesus Christ, the eternal High Priest.” Children may start serving in the fourth grade. Training sessions start in October.
Student Council: A student Council is elected each fall to represent the student body. A representative is elected from each classroom in the 4th to 8th grades. The four officers are from the 7th and 8th grade. Meetings are held monthly.
Academic Competitions: Every year St. Pius students prepare for and compete in a number of academic competitions. We are proud of our students’ accomplishments in these events, as they demonstrate the high level of preparedness provided by our teaching staff and curriculum, as well as the hard work and commitment of our students.
Some of the events that our students regularly take part in, include: the Aquinas Academic Olympics, the “America & Me” essay contest, the National Geography Bee, the Catechism Bowl, and the Science Olympiad.
Scouting:
St. Pius School has a long history of scouting opportunities for our students. This includes both Cub Scouts for boys in grades 1 – 5, and Girl Scouts for girls from grades 1 – 6.
While the programs are run separately, the goals of both programs include building character, confidence and commitment to our country and community. Scouts wear uniforms, work toward activity badges or patches, and have fun with friends.
Our scouts are always looking for dedicated adult leaders. Visit St. Pius’ on-line school calendar for meeting dates, or call the school office for further contact information.
