The Saint Pius Parish Men’s Club sponsors a varied program of competitive team sports for elementary school-aged boys and girls. While most of the participants are St. Pius School students, eligibility is open to all parish-member children.

PROGRAM GOALS: It is the goal of the CYO Sports program to provide young people opportunities to develop positive interpersonal relationships and attitudes of cooperation through participation in team sports under the leadership of responsible Christian adults. While championships and “perfect seasons” are exciting and memorable experiences, they are not the measurements of success or strength of the programs. The athletic programs also help young people develop a respect for physical development as well as a positive attitude toward fitness.

LEVELS OF PLAY: Most sports play on two levels-Varsity (grades 7 & 8) and Junior Varsity (grades 5 & 6).

TEAM SPORTS: Soccer, basketball, baseball, volleyball and cheerleading.

INSTRUCTIONAL LEAGUE: I-league sports programs are provided for kindergarten to fourth grade. The purpose of the instructional sports program is to introduce the children to the rules and fundamentals of the sports in an enjoyable, fun manner. The I-league program helps to build healthy bodies, self-esteem and a life long love of sports and fitness, while preparing the students for the transition to competitive sports as they move up in grade level. Instructional sports include: soccer, basketball, T-ball and baseball.
