Support Our Students

Volunteer Hours

The dedication of school volunteers is greatly appreciated by staff and students alike. Such generous donations of time and talents enable St. Pius to be a “full-service school,” even though it could not afford to “buy” such services. The lessons in Christian service that are taught to our young people cannot be provided in any better way! If you would like to volunteer to assist with classroom parties, activities, special projects, field trips, the preparation of classroom materials, or in some other way, please feel free to contact the school office or your child’s teacher.

Auction

A committee of parent volunteers organizes and hosts an auction each year to raise money to supplement the operation of our school. It takes many people to make our biggest fundraiser a success. If you would be interested in helping with the auction, please contact the school office.

SCRIP

SCRIPSCRIP is simply gift certificates from a variety of vendors. National and local retailers issue the gift certificates where many of you already shop. These merchants want to support non-profit organizations, and in return ask you to support them by shopping with SCRIP at their stores. Your family members can use SCRIP to purchase everyday expenses like food, clothing, and other essentials.50% of profit is credited towards tuition costs for enrolled students and the remaining 50% of profit goes to the school to reduce operating costs. It is a great way to shop and yet benefit towards your tuition. Orders are processed on a weekly basis. If you purchase $200.00 per month a designated Casual Day is rewarded to your child. Shopping was never so easy! Vendor forms may be pulled up on the website.

Meijer

Meijer offers the Community Rewards Program. To sign up go to Meijer.com/rewards. Enter our school code number 527625. Certain percentage of the purchases made at Meijer’s are credited to St. Pius School and recorded under that participating family.

Jog-a-thon/Bowl-a-thon/Bike-a-thon

This fundraiser is held each October to help maintain and upgrade our school’s technology and software. Students solicit pledges for each mile they jog.  Eight laps make one mile. Prizes are awarded depending on the amount of pledge money turned in to the school. This is a fun-filled day for all involved:  Students, staff, and the many parents who come to help and cheer on the students.  Students in grades 7 & 8 walk to Mulberry Lanes for an afternoon of bowling. Pledges cover the cost of bowling with additional funds going to technology. The preschoolers will also participate with a fun event of their own-their annual Bike-a-thon.

Magazine Sales

The beginning of the school year brings us our annual Magazine Sale. A variety of magazine subscriptions are offered for purchase. The monies for this fundraiser help reduce operating costs for the school.

Legacy Garden

Plant a memory that will commemorate the past, enhance the present, and inspire the future. The St. Pius Beautification Committee is pleased to announce the addition of a new Legacy Garden to be located on Pearl Street. The garden will take shape in multiple phases beginning now and will include a Perennial Peace Garden, Peace Pole, Trees, Shrubbery, and Wooden Planters.  Future phases will include a Butterfly Garden, Interactive Science Garden, Garden Benches and more. All parishioners and school families are welcome to share in the wonderful legacy of St. Pius for generations to come.  This is a great way to celebrate Anniversaries, Birthdays, Communions, Graduations, Alumni, or any Special Occasion.

Phase I: All donors will be permanently recognized on a community garden plaque displayed outside the school, and invited to an official ribbon- cutting ceremony. Minimum donation of $50.00.

Phase II: All donors will be permanently recognized with your personal message engraved on an individual brick paver and invited to official ribbon- cutting ceremony. Minimum donation of $175.00.

School Advisory Committee

The School Advisory Committee’s primary mission is to work with the administration (Pastor and Principal) to assure that operations are consistent with the school philosophy, the parish vision and the Archdiocesan guidelines. The School Committee discusses and advises on policies under which the principal shall administer the educational program of the school, current and future fundraising, marketing, public relations and enrollment.  The Committee represents parents and the parish, providing a forum for new ideas and planning for the future of the school. The Advisory Committee meets the second Monday of every month. School Committee members are selected by lottery. Anyone interested in serving should contact the principal.
