Thank you for visiting the Fourth Grade information page! Fourth Grade is quite an exciting year for the students at St. Pius School. It is the year in which the students first are able to participate in the student council, geography bee (both school and National Geographic), Knights of Columbus Spelling Bee, honor roll, altar service, Career Day and the Science Fair or Science Day.
Some of the features of our Fourth Grade classroom include a SMART Board that allows the teacher to engage students in interactive learning, internet access, learning centers, and group activities. We attend Mass, Spanish, Library, Art, Music, Physical Education, and Computer classes once a week and also have access to the Computer and Science Labs when not in use by other classes. Accelerated Reader (a reading comprehension program) is also a part of our Language Arts curriculum.
Religious Education – aside from our daily religion class, the students participate in weekly mass, morning prayer, and many other whole-school prayer services including Stations of the Cross (weekly during Lent) and The Rosary (weekly during May). We also participate in several service projects such as The Heifer Project, mitten/hat collection, Make-A-Wish, Toys for Tots, coat collection, Adopt-A-Family, and food drives.
Fourth Grade field trips include the Imagination Station in Toledo, The Henry Ford, and the MJR Theater to watch the yearly Earth Day movie.
