Get Involved – Support Our Students
The dedication of school volunteers is greatly appreciated by staff and students alike. Such generous donations of time and talents enable St. Pius to be a “full-service school,” even though it could not afford to “buy” such services. The lessons in Christian service that are taught to our young people cannot be provided in any better way! If you would like to volunteer to assist with classroom parties, activities, special projects, field trips, the preparation of classroom materials, or in some other way, please feel free to contact the school office or your child’s teacher.
A committee of parent volunteers organizes and hosts an auction each year to raise money to supplement the operation of our school. It takes many people to make our biggest fundraiser a success. If you would be interested in helping with the auction, please contact the school office.
SCRIP is simply gift certificates from a variety of vendors. National and local retailers issue the gift certificates where many of you already shop. These merchants want to support non-profit organizations, and in return ask you to support them by shopping with gift cards from the SCRIP Program (www.shopwithscrip.com). Your family members can use use the cards or certificates to purchase everyday expenses like food, clothing, and other essentials.50% of profit is credited towards tuition costs for enrolled students and the remaining 50% of profit goes to the school to reduce operating costs. It is a great way to shop, that also benefits you (tuition credits) and our school. Orders are processed on a weekly basis, and can be done online, OR use the SCRIP order form that is available on our school website. These forms are also located outside the school or parish offices. This successful group works together with parents, teachers and staff to benefit our students at St. Pius Catholic School. It sponsors many activities each year including educational assemblies for the children. We ask each family to join the PTO and welcome any parents who are interested in getting involved with the school and students. School Advisory Committee
The School Advisory Committee’s primary mission is to work with the administration (Pastor and Principal) to assure that operations are consistent with the school philosophy, the parish vision and the Archdiocesan guidelines. The School Committee discusses and advises on policies under which the principal shall administer the educational program of the school, current and future fundraising, marketing, public relations and enrollment. The Committee represents parents and the parish, providing a forum for new ideas and planning for the future of the school. The Advisory Committee meets the second Monday of every month. School Committee members are selected by lottery. Anyone interested in serving should contact the principal.
